Virtually every country packs in thousands of people at sports events and viewing religious personages. Just remember the crowds when the last Pope visited the US and the million man march in Washington D.C.. Just because a handful of people have bf in the region is no reason to think everyone is going to self quarantine. The country is the fourth most populous in the world and they too have very strong religious convictions. For that reason I am going to lock this thread.

How can we possibly avoid a pandemic if this kind of thing is going on? What are the chances that at least one of the people packed in there has been exposed to H5N1?

At the least they need crowd control, and at the most no large gatherings, hopefully nothing will come of this meeting, however such risks should not be allowed until we know for sure what is happening in the area around Jarkata.
