SAN JOSE / AP - Health authorities in Costa Rica on Thursday confirmed that a woman, aged 42, was listed as the thirteenth death by swine flu in the country.
Mar?a Trejos, Director of Epidemiological Surveillance Ministry of Health, told reporters that they are also verifying two other deaths to see if it really were influenza AH1N1.
The new case is the first case outside the Central Valley, which includes the capital and has the largest concentration of population in the country, since the woman died Saturday in the Caribbean province of Limon for a severe pneumonia.
The patient was also diabetic, hypertensive, obese, asthmatic and suffering from epilepsy.
