Attached is the LA County surveillance report for Week 33 that I received via e-mail just now. The report shows 35 deaths, which is 10 more than its previous reported for the period ending August 8th. That's 10 deaths in two weeks!

With that, my total for California is 165, as follows:

Alameda 11
Berkeley City 1
Contra Costa 6
El Dorado 1
Fresno 4
Humboldt 1
Long Beach City 2
Los Angeles 35
Marin 4
Mendocino 1
Merced 1
Monterey 1
Napa 1
Orange 19
Placer 1
Riverside 5
Sacramento 6
San Bernardino 7
San Diego* 21
San Francisco 6

San Luis Obispo 1
San Mateo 7
Santa Clara* 4
Santa Cruz 1
Siskiyou 1
Solano 2
Sonoma 6
Stanislaus 5
Ventura 1
Yolo 1

Total 165

*The total for San Diego County includes 3 visitors from other states that are not included on their official count.

Re: 10 More Deaths in LA County - total for state 165

I haven't seen anything in papers about California outbreak. But they seem to far and away ahead of any other state in terms of mortality. They're also approaching Mexico death toll, having passed Australia's which is unsettling to say the least. Perhaps over the summer, California is warmer and with the avian genes in H1N1 - it might like it. Or perhaps California got hit harder. Or there are 'other' possibilities which aren't so friendly.
