SEJONG, June 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korea reported an additional death from Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) Tuesday, bringing its death toll to 33.

But no additional cases of the disease have been reported for the third consecutive day with the number of people diagnosed with MERS standing at 182, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The deceased was an 81-year-old female patient who had been suffering from various disorders, including cerebral infarction prior to diagnosis with MERS.

With the latest death, the fatality rate of the disease in South Korea reached 18.1 percent.

Out of 182 people diagnosed with the disease here so far, 54 remained hospitalized while 13 are currently in an unstable condition, according to ministry officials.
