El objetivo es entrenar a los equipos t?cnicos respecto al manejo de una emergencia debido a la detecci?n de una enfermedad animal que no est? presente en el pa?s y evaluar la capacidad de respuesta de la instituci?n frente a este tipo de contingencias.
El ejercicio de simulaci?n Cahuil 2008 se realizar? recreando la detecci?n de un virus de influenza aviar en aves de traspatio, en un ?rea cercana a humedales costeros.
Cerca de 120 personas participar?n en el simulacro, entre m?dicos veterinarios y t?cnicos del SAG de todo el pa?s, profesionales de apoyo, acad?micos, m?dicos veterinarios del sector privado y de otros organismos p?blicos, representantes de organismos internacionales y servicios veterinarios del Cono Sur adem?s de algunos observadores invitados.
