The positivity rate (the number of positive tests over the total number of tests performed) jumped from 6.29% on Thursday to 7.24% this day.

On the other hand, today four deaths from the disease were confirmed in the country. They are a 92-year-old patient from Canelones, two patients from Montevideo, 67 and 75 years old, and a 58-year-old patient from Rivera. In this way, the number of deaths in Uruguay has risen to 109 since March.

Where are the new cases reported today from? 369 from Montevideo, 81 from Canelones, 13 from Maldonado, 9 from Artigas, 8 from Florida, 8 from Tacuaremb?, 7 from Cerro Largo, 7 from San Jos?, 6 from Paysand?, 5 from Durazno, 4 from Rivera, 1 from Flores, 1 from Lavalleja and 1 from Rocha.

"As for the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days have been maintained," indicated Sinae, adding: "In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is being carried out."

At the moment there are active cases in the 19 departments of the country.

There are 4,142 people suffering from the disease, which marks a new record for active cases in the country. There are 44 patients admitted to ICC.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 544,455 tests have been processed and 11,950 cases have been registered. Of that total, 7,699 have already been recovered.

Of the total cases confirmed since March 13, 922 correspond to health personnel, of which 688 have already recovered, 231 have the disease and three died.

Montevideo - the department with the most active cases - remains in the "orange" risk zone, according to the criteria designed by Harvard University. The average number of daily COVID-19 cases for a week per 100,000 people in the capital went from 20.69 on Thursday to 22.04 this Friday.

For the American House of Studies there are four levels of risk: green, yellow, orange and red. Green is for those countries that have, on average, less than one daily case of coronavirus for one week per 100,000 people. The yellow risk is for those who have between 1 and 9 daily cases per 100,000. This is followed by the orange alert (between 10 and 24 daily cases per 100,000 people) and red (more than 25 daily cases per 100,000).
