    Bird flu? Guess not.

Birds die of bird flu in Georgia

    Sat 27 November 2010

Birds dying of bird flu in a Georgian village.

Residents of the village where the disease broke out will have to handle the threat of an epidemic by their own efforts, Rosbalt reports.

The point is that the Georgian government does not sp
onsor the vaccine against the Newcastle disease (chicken plague).

Mass mortality was recorded in the village of Dedoplistskaro.

About 60 hens died in Dedoplistskaro. The people suppose there is a break-out of chicken plague in the region. It is not reported, though, whether the pathologic material state expertise has been held.

Local governors advise the people to vaccinate the poultry by their own efforts, for the state does not sponsor the vaccine against chicken plague.

Let us remind you of several pig flu hotbeds recorded in Sout-Ossetian villages adjoining Georgia. The virus is expected to have got there from the neighbouring regions of Georgia.

Authorities of some of the South-Ossetian regions recommend local residents to get rid of the pig stock.
