      The number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus in Latvia increased to 305 on March 28.

      A further 25 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Latvian territory, raising the total number of cases from 280 on Friday to 305 on Saturday.

      The new figure was released by the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) which said 1,046 tests had been conducted during the previous 24-hour period.

      In total 12,748 tests have been carried out since February 29.

          RIGA - With 29 more people testing positive for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Latvia has grown to 376, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
          During the past 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 patients in Latvia increased by 8 percent, according to LETA's estimates. Last week, the daily Covid-19 incidence ranged between 8 percent and 13 percent. In the two other Baltic states, Covid-19 cases grew at a less even rate. In Estonia, the daily rate of increase was in the range from 5 percent to 25 percent and in Lithuania from 10 percent to 31 percent.
          Of the 29 Covid-19 patients that are being treated in hospital, 25 are cases of moderate severity and three are severe cases, which means the patients have pneumonia and need ventilation...

            A total of 1,676 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the three Baltic countries as of Tuesday noon, according to the latest figures from official institutions, collected by the LETA/BNS.

            The latest COVID-19 statistics are as follows:

            Lithuania: 533 cases confirmed; 12,280 tests performed; seven deaths.




            Latvia: 398 cases confirmed; 14,807 tests performed.




            Estonia: 745 cases confirmed; 12,401 tests performed; four deaths.

              Record-high number of people test positive for Covid-19 as confirmed cases grow by 48 on Tuesday

              RIGA, April 1 (LETA) - With another 48 people testing positive for Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Latvia has grown to 446, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control informed.

              Altogether, 1,003 people were tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours. The total number of Covid-19 tests conducted so far reached 15,810.

              The daily rate of increase in Covid-19 cases is 11 percent, according to LETA's estimate.

              Of the 28 Covid-19 patients that are being treated in hospital, 25 are cases of moderate severity and three are severe cases...

                The number of confirmed COVID-19 infection cases in Latvia has reached 458, growing by 12 cases in the past day. Meanwhile, Lithuanian media report 649 confirmed coronavirus infection cases.

                The latest data for Estonia depicts 858 COVID-19 infection cases.

                Five deaths from the virus are confirmed in Estonia. 33 people have recovered from the virus so far.

                In Lithuania the number of deaths from complications caused by the virus has reached eight. The number of recoveries has reached seven.

                  Latvia confirms first Covid-19 related death

                  RIGA - The first Covid-19 related death in Latvia has been confirmed, Latvian Television reports.
                  The patient was a 99-year-old woman who had been receiving treatment at the Latvian Center for Infectious Diseases of Riga East Clinical University Hospital since March 27. For the first three days, the patient was treated in an intensive care unit.

                                RIGA, April 10 (LETA) - With 23 more people testing positive for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Latvia has grown to 612, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

                                Altogether, 1,198 people were tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours. The total number of Covid-19 tests conducted so far reached 26,656.

                                Of the 35 Covid-19 patients that are being treated in hospital at the moment, 32 are cases of moderate severity and three are severe cases, which means the patients have pneumonia and need ventilation.

                                As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday decided to extend the state of emergency until May 12. Current restriction are not increased, but they are not softened either.
