    The Chief Veterinary Officer informs about the detection of outbreak no. 3 in 2024 of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) of the H5N1 subtype in poultry.

    The HPAI 3/2024 outbreak was confirmed based on the results of laboratory tests on January 9, 2024 received from the National Veterinary Institute - National Research Institute (PIWet - PIB) in Puławy.

    An HPAI outbreak was detected on a commercial farm with 18,000 turkeys for fattening.

    The HPAI 3/2024 outbreak is located in the town of Stary Uścimów in the Uścimów commune in the Lubartów district in the province. Lublin Province.

    The Veterinary Inspection implements all disease control measures in connection with the detection of an HPAI outbreak on a farm in accordance with the procedures resulting from the provisions of national and Community law.

              On February 8, 2024, the first outbreak of bird flu this year was detected in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The infected herd was located on a commercial farm in the Iława poviat, Iława commune and consisted of 10,050 turkeys for slaughter. The poultry was gassed by decision of the Chief Veterinary Officer. This was the 11th outbreak of the virus in Poland this year.

              February 9 this year in the province In the Lubuskie Voivodeship, the 12th outbreak of bird flu in Poland this year and the 2nd in this voivodeship was detected. Now, however, the virus has attacked in the town of Glinki.​

              Grypa ptaków atakuje stada drobiu w kolejnych województwach. Tylko w lutym na terenie kraju wykryto 5 ognisk H5N1. Na koniec minionego tygodnia zagazowano łącznie ponad 45 tys. indyków rzeźnych.

                Outbreaks of HPAI also in captive poultry

                The Chief Veterinary Officer informs about the detection of an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) subtype H5N1 in poultry No. 15 in 2024.

                The HPAI 15/2024 outbreak was confirmed based on the results of laboratory tests on February 15 received from the National Veterinary Institute - National Research Institute (PIWet - PIB) in Puławy.

                The HPAI 15/2024 outbreak broke out on a commercial farm with 765 breeding geese in the town of Rumin in the Stare Miasto commune in the Konin district in the province. Greater Poland.

                The Veterinary Inspection implements all disease control measures in accordance with the procedures resulting from national and EU law.

                Veterinary services also confirmed 2 outbreaks in captive birds.

                HPAI outbreak no. 1/c broke out in the town of Krzeszyce in the Krzeszyce commune in the Sulęcin poviat in the province. Lubusz Province on a non-commercial farm with 80 hens for personal use.

                HPAI outbreak No. 2/c broke out in the town of Kopanie in the Skarbimierz commune in the Brzeg poviat in the province. Opole Province on a non-commercial farm keeping 23 poultry (hens and geese) for personal use.

                In the territory of the Republic of Poland, since January 1, 2024, 15 HPAI outbreaks have been detected in poultry, 2 HPAI outbreaks in captive birds and 8 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds...​

                              Announcement of the Chief Veterinary Officer regarding the detection of an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in poultry

                              The Chief Veterinary Officer informs about the detection of outbreak No. 23 in 2024 of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) of the H5N1 subtype in poultry, based on the results of laboratory tests received from the National Veterinary Institute - National Research Institute (PIWet - PIB) in Puławy.

                              HPAI outbreak No. 23 was confirmed based on laboratory test results from February 27 this year. on a commercial farm with 18,152 turkeys for slaughter in the town of Windyki, Iława commune, Iława poviat, province. Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

                              The Veterinary Inspection implements all disease control measures in accordance with the procedures resulting from national law and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687 of 17 December 2019 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the rules on prevention certain listed diseases and their control.

                              In the territory of the Republic of Poland, since January 1, 2024, 23 HPAI outbreaks in poultry, 2 HPAI outbreaks in captive birds and 10 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds have been detected.
