Mexico: Malaria risk in Oaxaca

The Oaxaca Health Authority (SSO), along with the National Committee for Epidemiological Surveillance (CONAVE), issued an epidemiological alert for the state due to a malaria outbreak:
A total of 20 confirmed malaria cases have been identified so far. The cases were reported through the National Epidemiological Surveillance System (SNAVE) in San Pedro Tapanatepec, Oaxaca. Of these, 16 are autochthonous cases and four are imported cases.
In addition, the Valles Centrales Sanitary Jurisdiction has identified an imported case of malaria infection. This brings the number of cases to a total of 21 confirmed malaria cases in Oaxaca.
