PORTLAND (WGME) -- Hepatitis A, which is highly infectious, is spreading through homeless encampments in Portland, according to the Press Herald. More than a dozen people have reportedly been infected in the past few months.
As of Nov. 20, there have been 18 confirmed hepatitis A cases in Portland, according to Maine CDC.
According to the Maine CDC, an outbreak is defined as three or more cases of a disease that are linked.
