C. difficile outbreak at L&A County Hospital

An outbreak of the c. difficile bacteria may have been a factor in two deaths at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital in the last week, a hospital official said.
Chief of Staff Tom Touzel is asking people to take extra precautions when entering the hospital, saying that the outbreak is "serious." An outbreak was declared in the middle of last week, when staff noticed c. difficile associated diarrhea, also known as CDAD, was spreading around the hospital. The media was informed of the outbreak Tuesday night, at which time there had been seven reported cases...
