Egypt - FAO reports a human case of H5N1 bird flu in Giza - March 12, 2016

3rd case reported in a week

This case is apparently the earliest of all observation dates this year, yet was just reported by the Egypt national authorities now:


1) Egypt - Female, 2, observation date February 25, 2016, Sohag

2) Egypt - FAO reported case, observation date March 4, 2016, Cairo

3) Egypt - FAO reported case, observation date February 24, Giza


Due to the repression of the free press in Egypt, none of these cases were seen in the news.

Also the FAO report dates are several days earlier than the published date. This leads me to think that there is some approval process before public release.
