A valley has formed that runs through part of Grindavíkur town and the land in the western part of the settlement has sunk by up to 1 meter.
This is stated in a new announcement from the Norwegian Meteorological Agency, where satellite images are published that show the development of the situation. The announcement states:

"Based on the analysis of satellite data prepared by the Norwegian Meteorological Agency on November 12, it appears that a sort of depression has formed that runs through part of Grindavíkur town. The data shows that in connection with the formation of the magma tunnel, land in the western part of the settlement has subsided by up to 1 m."

About five hundred earthquakes have been recorded at the magma tunnel near Grindavík after midnight. However, most of the earthquakes were on the smaller side and all below 3 in magnitude.

According to RÚV, Bjarka Kaldalóns Friis, a natural hazard expert at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, says that there are no signs of volcanic eruptions. Magma still flows into the corridor.
