    Salvadoran health authorities said Friday they are alert against a possible outbreak of influenza A (H3N2), associated in particular the movement of people between China and the United States, where there are at least 18 child deaths and 2,000 hospitalizations.

    Deputy Minister for Health Policy, Eduardo Espinoza, reported that so far have not identified cases of infection with this type of strain, but maintain surveillance due to air exchange between El Salvador and the United States, about the disease.

    The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported that in the United States recorded the deaths of 18 children and more than 2,000 hospitalizations for the disease.

    "The virus travels with people. We must follow the preventive measures and how to avoid complicating cases," warned the official.
