Individual had other health issues

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - There's been another confirmed swine flu death in the Vancouver Coastal Health region. This marks the fourth in our province.
Chief provincial health officer Perry Kendall says the person was in their 40's but the gender of the person has not been released, "[The person is] from the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority region and I believe, like most of the other deaths, it's someone with an underlying health condition that made them more susceptible." VCH covers an area from the Sunshine Coast through much of Metro Vancouver.
Dr. Kendall adds the death rate from the H1N1 flu has been relatively low and no worse than seasonal flu. He says for some reason, people born before 1957 seem to have more resistance to the bug. 676 people have tested positive for the swine flu in BC since the outbreak was first reported.
