WELLSBURG, W.Va. -- Brooke County Schools' administrators said five more students have been infected with Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus.
Two female student athletes at Brooke High School were first confirmed as having MRSA and five more students have contracted the bacterial infection.
Superintendent Kathy Kidder said the school system has taken proactive steps to ensure student safety and the county Health Department previously said the high school has taken every proper precaution since the first two confirmed cases.
"I'm concerned because the school system has done so much. The custodians -- every evening at 9 p.m. -- are disinfecting," Kidder said.
