Raigmore Hospital closes intensive care unit as it is hit by another bug
Raigmore Hospital - under fire for a recent Clostridium difficile outbreak - has been hit by another bug this time forcing the temporary closure of its intensive care unit (ICU).
Today NHS Highland said, as a result of routine testing, the bacterium Pseudomonas was identified on Friday in three patients who were being treated in the hospital. The bacterium recently hit the headlines when it was blamed for the deaths of three babies at Belfast's Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital, in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Raigmore said the source of its cases were linked back to ICU...
