Temporary St. Paul lab closure slows COVID-19 testing

Numbers as of Sunday, May 31.
        Written By: Teri Cadeau | May 31st 2020 - 12pm.

A temporary lab closure prevented state officials from testing COVID-19 specimens over the weekend.

The Health Department reported no new cases in St. Louis and Carlton counties Sunday. Due to civil unrest in St. Paul, the Minnesota Department of Health Lab was closed from May 30-31. COVID-19 specimens were not accepted and no tests were run during this time. When possible, samples were re-routed to partner laboratories.
