    Oakland County man fourth death in Michigan linked to COVID-19

    A 50-year-old Oakland County man died Friday after being diagnosed with COVID-19, according to a statement from the Oakland County Health Division.

    The man's death is the fourth in Michigan linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

    The first three deaths involved Wayne County residents with underlying medical conditions. They include a Southgate man in his 50s, a woman in her 50s and an 81-year-old woman, both from Detroit, according to officials on Thursday...

            A sixth death in Michigan has been linked to the COVID-19 pandemic in Michigan, according to the Henry Ford Health System.

            A 90-year-old Oakland County woman with underlying health issues died Saturday at the system's Bloomfield Hospital.

            The announcement followed news Saturday that a Detroit woman in her 90s had recently died from complications related to COVID-19, according to the Detroit health department.               First coronavirus death confirmed in West Michigan; 7 total statewide

              GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The first coronavirus death on the state’s west side was reported Saturday night.
              A male patient in his 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, died March 21 at a Spectrum Health hospital in Kent County, according to a news release issued around 8 p.m.
              The man had a history of underlying health conditions, according to the Kent County Health Department.

                                LANSING (WJRT) (3/24/2020) - Nine more people have died from coronavirus and Michigan has more than 450 new cases of the illness, according to statistics released Tuesday.

                                All nine of the deaths occurred in the Detroit area: three each in Wayne and Washtenaw counties, two in the city of Detroit and one in Macomb County. Michigan's coronavirus death toll now stands at 24.

                                The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 463 new cases statewide on Tuesday afternoon, pushing the state's total to nearly 1,800.
