  • Question re. reporting of bf outbreaks to the OIE

Apparently, there was an outbreak of H5N1 in poultry in Al Minya in Egypt last week:

However, the last report from Egypt to the OIE was on March 3, 2006:

Can someone, please, explain to me why this latest outbreak -- and all the others during 2006-2007 -- have not reported to the OIE? I thought all outbreaks were reportable. ??

You can make list of 5 to 10 countries not reporting or very slow reporting.

... why this latest outbreak -- and all the others during 2006-2007 -- have not reported to the OIE?

Remember the questions posed at The Pand. d. forum (Deliberation Room) post:
...epidemic level enaugh high to justify medical censuring?

This is especially disconcerting considering the WHO statement in August telling us the virus in some places in Africa had changed to one needing a cooler temp. Not happy about this.
Please do not ask me for medical advice, I am not a medical doctor.

Avatar is a painting by Alan Pollack, titled, "Plague". I'm sure it was an accident that the plague girl happened to look almost like my twin.
