The deceased, a software engineer who lived and worked in a software company in Kolkata, was admitted to a local private hospital in Bhubaneswar after he complained of severe chest pain and nausea on Tuesday. He was later shifted to the ICU.

As per reports, the person was a native of Odisha. He completed his engineering from a private engineering college in the state and was working in Kolkata. He had been to Delhi on a trip where apparently he contracted the disease. He had come to Bhubaneswar to see his parents and for subsequent treatment. However, he died last Tuesday evening following severe complications.

Police have seized the dead body of the person. The doctor who was attending on him said that only after the arrival of the postmortem and swab reports the cause of the death of the person will be ascertained. However, his body has been kept in quarantine as a precautionary measure.
