Suspected Bird Flu Death

GUNUNGKIDUL, KOMPAS.com - Suspected infected with bird flu (Avian Influenza) Sri Supartilah (26) Village residents Pacarejo, Semanu Gunungkidul, died while being treated at this hospital, Yogyakarta, on Wednesday (23/03/2011). This housewife was undergoing medical treatment for 3 days with similar indications affected by avian influenza.
Head of District Health Office Gunungkidul dr Sri Raharto say, the certainty the cause of death of the victim until now unknown. Even if there are indications of bird flu, all still need a laboratory examination process. Even in relation to this is now done repietes in the Ministry of Health.
"Everything is still in process and we can not necessarily declare the cause of death of this patient because of bird flu," he said cautiously.
Sri Raharto added, it will immediately coordinate with the departments of Animal Husbandry and related institutions. While the information collected, before being treated at this hospital, patients Sri Supartilah first hospitalized in Pelita Husada Gunungkidul because body temperature above normal.
Then the patient was advised to undergo hospitalization. Since there is no progress, the victim brought his family to be treated in this hospital.
A few days after undergoing medical treatment eventually died. Related to this incident, Head Semanu Drs Wastono request, to people not concerned in addressing the information on bird flu victims that are still allegations.
"We are still in the examination in the laboratory Kemenkes RI, so we wait for the results," he said on Wednesday (23/03/2011).
