    Pekanbaru (27/04/2010) - Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Arifin Ahmad Pekanbaru, kembali mengkarantina seorang bocah berumur empat tahun, yang di indikasikan suspect flu burung. Saat ini, pihak kedokteran masih melakukan diagnosa, dan menunggu hasil sampel.

    Joice Evelin, bocah empat tahun, warga jalan Sidomulyo RT 1 RW 8 Kecamatan Senapelan, menjalani perawatan di ruang isolasi flu burung, rumah sakit umum daerah Arifin Ahmad Pekanbaru.

    Joice Evelin, putri dari pasangan Harapan Bagariang dan Emawaty ini, sebelumnya juga sempat dirawat selama dua hari, 21 hingga 23 april lalu di RSUD Arifin Achmad. Kemudian pihak keluarga membawa joice pulang.

    Namun hanya satu hari dirumah, kondisi badan joice kembali panas tinggi, dan kemudian dimasukkan ke rumah sakit Santa Maria.

    Seterusnya pihak santa maria, kamis pagi kemarin, merujuk Joice kembali ke RSUD, dan saat ini dirawat intensif di ruangan isolasi flu burung. Berdasarkan keterangan kepala bagian humas RSUD Arifin, Ahmad Zainal Arifin, saat ini pasien sedang menjalani diagnosa dan menunggu hasil laboratorium dari pihak dokter.

    Dijelaskan Zainal, berdasarkan keterangan pihak keluarga dalam hal ini orang tua joice, joice tidak pernah kontak langsung dengan unggas sebelum diduga mengidap suspec flu burung.

    Pekanbaru ? A four-year-old girl, Joice Evelyn, a resident of Jalan Sidomulyo RT/RW 1/8 Kecamatan Senapelan, is suspected of contracting bird flu virus. The girl is currently under intensive treatment at bird flu isolation unit of Arifin Achmad hospital in Pekan Baru.

    Patient had been hospitalized in Arifin Achmad hospital for two days from 21 to 23 April before taken home by her family. Patient had recurrent fever on the next day after she returned home that she was rushed to Santa Maria hospital. Later she was referred to Arifin Achmad hospital.

    Hospital is still waiting for the laboratory test result.

    Patient has no direct contact history with birds before the illness.

    Bocah Suspek Flu Burung Meninggal di RSUD Arifin Achmad

    RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru sempat merawat seorang bocah suspek flu burung asal Senapelan. Kondisinya kian memburuk dan akhirnya meninggal dunia.

    Riauterkini-PEKANBARU- Seorang bocah berisial Joice Efeline (4) anak pasangan Bagarian (35) dan E Nainggolan (32) warga Jalan Sidomulyo, Senapelan, Kota Pekanbaru sempat menjalani perawatan intensif di ruang isolasi perawatan pasien suspek flu burung RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. Gejala klinik yang diderita bocah tersebut mengarah pada serangan virus flu burung.

    Menurut Kabag Humas RSUD Arifin Ahcmad Pekanbaru Zainal Arifin, bocah suspek flu burung tersebut diterima rumah sakitnya pada Senin (26/4/10) lalu, setelah dirujuk dari RS Santa Maria Pekanbaru. Saat dirujuk kondisinya sudah memburuk. Setelah dirawat intensif selama dua hari, akhirnya, sekitar pukul 15.00 WIB, Rabu (28/4/10) pasien tersebut tak terselamatkan jiwanya.

    ?Baru saja pasien secara medis dinyatakan meninggal dunia. Tapi kita belum bisa memastikan, apakah pasien tersebut positif flu burung. Baru sebatas dicurigai,? jelas saat berbincang dengan riauterkini di Pekanbaru, Rabu (28/4/10).

    Dijelaskan Zainal, suhu badan pasien sebelum koit mencapai 38,9 derajat celsius dan kondisi parunya terjadi genangan cairan. Saat ini jenazah pasien masih di RSUD dan menunggu keluarganya untuk mengambil.*

        Joyce, a resident Sidomulyo, Pekanbaru, treated isolation room since Monday (26 / 4) night, after previously being treated at the Hospital of Santa Maria Pekanbaru.           Note - post 1 says the young girl was hospitalized on April 21. The cooking and eating of chicken on April 22 (post 3) could not have been the source of the infection if it is H5N1.

                  Joice had high fever up to 39℃ and breathing rate 90 per minute before the decease.

                  ?Joice never had any contact with birds. We don?t rear any birds at home,? said Harapan Bagariang, Joice?s father.

                  Previously, Joice developed fever for a week and hospitalized in Arifin Achmad hospital. Because of insufficient medical service, family brought the girl to Santa Maria hospital.

                  ?After a day, Santa Maria hospital?s doctor said that Joice had virus. She was then referred back to Arifin Achmad hospital as it is the only bird flu referral hospital (in Riau).

                  Head of bird flu control team Arifin Achmad hospital, dr Azizman Saad, said victim was strongly suspected of contracting bird flu H5N1 virus because major part of patient?s lung had been covered (refers to pneumonia).

                  ?X-ray showed her lung had been covered. She also had high fever,? he said.

                      Is there a current count on H5N1 deaths for Indonesia? Are we still hoovering in the 85% area for fatalities in Indo? -k

                        There is the WHO current count which are the cases reported by the government of Indonesia. I would consider this as a list of "at least".

                              Mon, Apr 12 2010JAKARTA (Reuters) - A four year-old Indonesian girl has died from H5N1 bird flu virus, and three other people in the area - who did not have contact with the child - are being tested for the virus, an official said on Monday.


                              With a death toll to date of 136, Indonesia has the highest number of deaths from the virus of any country globally.

                              The girl, who lived in Pekanbaru, Sumatra, died on Wednesday, said Azizman Saad, the head of bird flu unit at Arifin Achmad hospital. The three others - a mother, her seven year-old child, and a five-year-old girl who live in Siak district, northeast of Pekanbaru - were admitted to hospital on Friday.
