Karam: the IMSS, the epidemic alert is permanent

The director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Daniel Karam Toumeh, began yesterday in the city of Aguascalientes, the National Campaign of Vaccination against influenza A/H1N1 virus, which apply 12 million doses. He stressed that people can have peace of mind during the holidays that Social Security will have sufficient personnel adequately trained to care for patients with symptoms of this type of influenza. Similarly, he noted that has a strategic stockpile of antivirals to meet demand.
IMSS director said that the epidemiological information of this institution registered as at 17 November, saw a 45 percent decline in cases of influenza-like illness, and a 11 percent reduction in the number of serious respiratory infections that require hospitalization in relation to the previous week.
