The Mexicans have developed "herd immunity" against the influenza A/H1N1, so in this winter season has not rocketed the number of patients with the virus, said Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos.
Since the disease appeared in Mexico have been recorded 53 thousand cases and 411 deaths, but there has been a substantial increase, the official said on Sunday in Leon, Guanajuato.
"Those who have recently died did not abruptly, but are deaths that are piling up since July, and missing tests to give confirmation of the cause," he said.
Jose Angel Cordova said that many people have been in contact with the virus, which has developed this "herd immunity, and probably why the plot has not been fired.
The head of the Ministry of Health said that although there is a rebound of the disease, should maintain preventive measures and more in cold weather.
So, asked the population "not shouting victory, because in principle the behavior of influenza virus transmissibility is greater in cold, dry environments that occur at year's end.
According to Cordova Villalobos, seasonal influenza was replaced by 90 percent by the A/H1N1, and in late November there will be more than a million vaccines to be applied to personal health.
He noted that in December, Mexico will have 7 million vaccinations given to pregnant women, children under six months, as persons who are responsible for minors, and in January they will be 18 million vaccines for the rest of the population .
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health of Nuevo Leon reported that in addition to 44 the number killed by the H1N1 virus last April to date, while the cumulative total of infections in this period came to 3 thousand 339.
