Almost 2 weeks ago 7 suspects were reported from a village in Java, after an outbreak of H5N1 in poultry. No follow up reports were published. We must assume the suspects were negative and/or Tamiflu did the job.

The number of suspected cases that are extremely ill is especially worrisome. We are left with a lot of uncertainty about suspected cases because of the lack of media follow up and testing results.Almost 2 weeks ago 7 suspects were reported from a village in Java, after an outbreak of H5N1 in poultry. No follow up reports were published. We must assume the suspects were negative and/or Tamiflu did the job.
The last official WHO announcement on cases from Indonesia was on April 2, 2008. http://www.who.int/csr/don/2008_04_02/en/index.html It reported on three individuals, two were deceased. The good news is that third individual, Alifah (Alifah Qansa), a one year old girl survived. And, as note in post #53 above, was finally allowed to come home.Comment
