Since the latest update released by Ministry of Health (March 25 2011), three additional confirmed cases of avian influenza A(H5N1) human infections have been added to the total.
Cumulative Number of Human Cases of H5N1 in Egypt (since 2006): 140 (latest WHO figures (April 1 2011, http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian.../en/index.html ): 133
Cumulative Number of Deaths (since 2006): 45 (same number in the WHO update, http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian.../en/index.html )
Five patients are currently hospitalized.
