    Hong Kong: Tuen Mun Hospital reports cluster of Norovirus cases (1/24/10)

    The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

    Regarding a female rehabilitation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) in which some patients had been confirmed with Noroviral infection, the hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (January 24):

    One more patient (aged 56) in the ward had presented with diarrhea symptoms. Appropriate tests had been arranged and the test result was positive to Norovirus. The patient is being treated under isolation and in stable condition. Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visiting to and discharge from the ward are imposed. Infection control measures of the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.

    The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.

      Hong Kong: Update on cluster of Norovirus cases in Tuen Mun Hospital (1/26/10)

      The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

      Regarding a female rehabilitation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) in which some patients had been confirmed with Noroviral infection, a hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (January 26):

      Three more patients (aged 43 to 81) in the ward had presented with diarrhea symptoms. Appropriate tests had been arranged and the test results of the patients were positive to Norovirus. One of the patients has been discharged and the other two are being treated under isolation. All are in stable condition. Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visiting to and discharge from the ward are imposed. Infection control measures of the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.

      The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
