MONTEVIDEO, 16 (ANSA) - The influenza A (H1N1) caused 19 deaths so far in Uruguay, confirmed the Ministry of Public Health (MSP).
Health authorities said that the dead included two children under five years, including 11 months of a baby who died last week.
The victims were "in significant morbidity due to diabetes, respiratory diseases associated with smoking, heart disease and morbid obesity.
The MSP also reported that so far identified and studied 31 outbreaks, 17 of them in educational institutions affecting 132 people.
The Minister of Public Health, Maria Julia Munoz, said today that his ministry will undertake a comprehensive review of patient records for the purpose of knowing exactly what those patients suffering from other ailments. GAT
