  • Moving posts to the archive

recently I noticed that many old posts are being deleted by the management.
I suspect it's mainly posts by "HenryN".
But also posts which contain links to sites that "bash FT" or such.

    Do we want this ?
I often search for keywords when I'm trying to find old posts
    which I vaguely remember.

I think it would be unfair to leave (potential) members in the believe
    all their posts would remain.

Let's organize a backup-strategy to keep the posts and their
    included knowledge for later reference.

    I did make a backup in 2007, http://magictour.free.fr/ft.gz
    36.4MB compressed , (140MB)
    but updates are tedious

As I have told you several times, we do not delete here. We move posts to the archives.

The reasons we do this is that some of the posts from 2006, for instance, become out of date. Old guidances from the CDC, new medical discoveries making old standard ideas obsolete are issues we consider. Other reasons include bashing etc.

I know that you are looking for some of your old posts and this is the reason you constantly bring this topic up. As you know, we moved many of your old posts that bashed HenryN to the archives. In our opinion many of these posts disrupted the threads and we moved them into the archives years ago.

Re: Moving posts to the archive

but this way you falsify the discussion in those threads.
Readers get a wrong image about the flow of arguments.

You never told me that you were "moving" my posts

Apparantly the archive is not available to normal access
      by members or nonregistered readers.
      Who can access it ?
Can we have a copy, please ?
