    The source of the spread of Bird Flu still came from the poultry.

      Indonesia Records the 108th case

      Jakarta, October 8, 2007 -

      The Ministry of Health confirmed Monday that a 44-year-old woman, a resident of Pekanbaru District in Riau Province is confirmed as the 108th human case of avian influenza.

      The MoH's Bird Flu Information Center said the case had onset on October 1, 2007 and admitted to Clinic in Rumbai Sub District on the same day. She then was transferred to Awal Bross Hospital in Pekanbaru on the next day before finally being treated at Riau's bird flu-referal hospital--Arifin Achmad Hospital.

      The case suffered fever, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia and pneumonia before she died on October 6, 2007 at the Arifin Achmad Hospital, Pekanbaru.

      Laboratory tests show that the case has been infected by the deadly H5N1 avian influenza strain.

      The death of the case brings Indonesia's bird flu death toll to 87 of the 108 confirmed human cases.

        AI Dead Victim Rises to 87

        09 Oct 2007

        Number of avian influenza (AI) victims is rising. The last case based on laboratory research of National Institute of Health Research and Development (Litbangkes) MOH is LT (f, 44 years) who lived at Komplek Jati 119, CPI Rumbai, Lembah Damai Village, Rumbai Subdistrict, Pekanbaru, Riau Province.

        She died on October 6, 2007 at 04.00 a.m., one day after being hospitalized in Arifin Achmad Hospital , Pekanbaru Riau. Therefore, cumulative number of AI positive in Indonesia reaches 108 cases, with 87 of them dead. The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is 80.55%.

        This latest information is received by Center for Public Communication from Dr. H. Nadhirin, AI Outbreak Post, Directorate General of Disease Control & Environmental Health MOH on October 8, 2007.

        LT had AI-alike symptoms on August 27, 2007, but was referred to Arifin Achmad Hospital on October 5, 2007.

        By her death, Riau Province now has 5 AI positive cases, with 4 of them dead, that are A(f, 29) died on May 12, Y (m, 29) died on June 12, GS (m, 33) died on September 6.

          I beg to differ on these dates. LT did not die on 10/6. LT was not referred to Arifin Achmad on 10/5.

          Burhanudin explained, before being reconciled to RSUD Arifin Achmad, the patient could in treated in RS Awal of the Pekanbaru Brooch for four days, but because his fever did not improve then he was reconciled to RSUD Arifin Achmad on Thursday (4/10) and was placed in special isolation space bird flu.

              It was other that the positive case of bird flu was found in Tangerang, Banten.

              IR (male, 12 years), the resident of the Ceger Village, Sepatan, of Tangerang, West Java was stated positive Bird Flu, on Wednesday October 10 2007, was based on the PCR inspection realtime and gelbased.

              IR began to be sick on October 3 2007 and at this time still was treated in RS Persahabatan after beforehand took medicine in RS Tangerang.

              Before being sick, IR could contact with the positive chicken Bird Flu.

                Bird Flu claims its' 88th death in Indonesia

                Jakarta, October 14, 2007 - Bird Flu Information Center - Bird Flu claims another victim in Indonesia.

                IR, a 12-year old boy from Tangerang District, Banten province died on Saturday October 13, 2007.

                A laboratory test results from the Ministry of Health's Research and Development Center dated October 10, 2007 confirmed that IR is positively infected by the H5N1 virus.

                IR had onset on 30 September 2007 and was examined by a midwife the day after before he was admitted to Tangerang Hospital on 8 October 2007.

                He was then transfered to Bird-Flu referral Hospital, the Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta on 9 October 2007.

                He has shown symptoms of fever, leucopenia, thrombositopenia and pneumonia.

                IR died at Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta on Saturday, October 13 2007 at 07.30.

                Indonesia now records 109 human cases of bird flu, 88 of them are fatal.

                Jakarta, October 22, 2007 - Ministry of Health -

                A 12-year old boy, identified as "IR" from Tangerang, Banten Province,
                whom on October 10 2007 was confirmed by the test results from the
                Health Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Health to be
                positively infected by the H5N1 virus, died on Octrober 13, 2007
                at 07.30 am at Persahabatan Hospital.

                Overall, Indonesia has now recorded 109 confirmed human H5N1 cases
                with 88 fatalities.

                The case fatality rate now stands at 80.73%.

                Up to today, Banten Province has recorded 15 bird flu positive cases
                with 13 fatalities.

                Exposure to sick birds remains the primary source of human infection
                with Bird Flu. It is advised for people not to keep poultry or for people
                who keep poultry to keep their birds well away from home, and also to
                clean the cage using disinfectant or detergent at least once a week.

                If you find sick chickens or there are sudden deaths of poultry in your area,
                report it immediately to your village leader, district head, or to the district livestock office.

                People are urged to learn more about bird flu and to reduce their risk
                of contracting the virus by adopting clean and healthy behaviors:

                    Bird Flu claims another victim in Banten Province. DA, a 5-year old girl from Tangerang District, Banten Province died on Monday October 22, 2007. A laboratory test results from the Ministry of Health's Research and Development Center dated October 21, 2007 confirmed that DA is positively infected by the H5N1 virus.

                    Another laboratory test from Jakarta-based Eijkman Institute is also required to confirm the test results. In almost all cases, the Eijkman's test results match the Litbangkes laboratory's test results.

                    DA had onset on 14 October 2007 and was admitted to Sari Asih Hospital in Tangerang Hospital on 20 October 2007.

                    She was then referred to Persahabatan Hospital, a bird flu referral Hospital in Jakarta, on 22 October 2007. She has shown symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, breathing difficulty, leucopenia and pneumonia.

                    DA died at Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta on Monday, October 22 2007 at 1400.

                    Indonesia now records 110 human cases of bird flu, 89 of them are fatal.

                      DA (f, 4.6 years) who lived in Suka Asih Village, Rt 05/02, Pasar Kemis Subdistrict, Tangerang, Banten Province died on October 22, 2007 at 02.00 p.m., at Persahabatan Hospital.

                      She was stated positive AI on October 23, 2007, based on PCR realtime and gelbased in Laboratory of National Institute of Health Research and Development (Litbangkes) MOH.

                      Therefore, in Banten, there are 16 AI positive cases, with 14 of the, dead. Cumulative number of AI in Indonesia reaches 110 cases, with 89 people dead. The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is 80.90%.

                      It is the latest data received by Center for Public Communication from Dr. H. M. Nadhirin, AI outbreak post, DG of Disease Control & Environmental Health MOH on October 23, 2007.

                        Indonesia Records Its' 111 Bird Flu Positive Case

                        Jakarta, October 29, 2007 - Bird Flu Command Centre -

                        A laboratory test results from the Ministry of Health's Research and Development Center dated October 22, 2007 confirmed that SA, a 3-year old boy from Tangerang district, Banten Province is positively infected by the H5N1 virus.

                        Another laboratory test from Jakarta-based Eijkman Institute is also required to confirm the test results. In almost all cases, the Eijkman's test results match the Litbangkes laboratory's test results.

                        SA had onset on 22 October 2007 and was admitted to Sulianti Saroso Hospital on October 27 2007. He has shown symptoms of runny nose, coughing. Up to today, SA is still being treated at Sulianti Saroso Hospital.

                        Indonesia now records 111 human cases of bird flu, 89 of them are fatal.

                          New AI Case in Tangerang

                          There is another avian influenza (AI) case from Tangerang. S (m, 3 years) who lives in Suka Asih Village, Rt 05/02, Pasar Kemis Subdistrict, Tangerang, Banten Province, is stated positive of AI virus (H5N1) on October 27, 2007, based on PCR realtime and gelbased observation at laboratory of National Institute of Health Research & Development (Litbangkes) MOH and Molecular Biological Institute of Eijkman. He is hospitalized in Suliati Saroso Infection Hospital, Jakarta since last Friday night.

                          Therefore, in Banten there are 17 AI positive cases, with 14 people dead. Cumulative number of AI cases in Indonesia reaches 111 cases, with 89 people dead. The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is 80.18%.

                          This latest data is received by Center for Public Communication from Dr. H. M. Nadhirin, AI Outbreak Post, DG of Disease Control & Environmental Health MOHRI, on October 28, 2007.

                            ES, Newest Bird Flu Fatality In Tangerang

                            Jakarta, November 5, 2007 - Bird Flu Information center -

                            A laboratory test results from the Ministry of Health's Research and Development Center dated November 1, 2007 confirmed that ES (F, 30) from Tangerang Municipality, Banten Province is positively infected by the H5N1 virus. Another laboratory test from Jakarta-based Eijkman Institute is also required to confirm the test results. In almost all cases, the Eijkman's test results match the Litbangkes laboratory's test results.

                            ES had onset on 23 October 2007 and went to seek medical assistance on October 28, 2007 at Pinang Sari Clinic and Kosambi Clinic. She was admitted to Husada Insani hospital in Tangerang on October 30, 2007 then referred to Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta on October 31,2007.

                            ES died at Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta on November 03, 2007 at 13.30. She had shown symptoms of fever, coughing, sore throat, breathing difficulties, Leucopeny, thrombocitopeny, penumonia.

                            Indonesia now records 112 human cases of bird flu, 90 of them are fatal.

                              ES (f, 30 years) who lived at Jl. Rasuna Said RT 04/06 Cipete, Pinang Subdistrict, Tangerang District, Banten Province and was stated positive of H5N1 virus, on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 01.30 p.m. died at Persahabatan Hospital.

                              Therefore, at Banten province there are 18 AI positive cases with 15 people dead. Cumulative number of AI cases in Indonesia reaches 112 cases with 90 people dead. The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is 80.35%.

                              This latest data is received by Center for Public Communication from AI Outbreak Post of DG of Diseases Control & Environmental Health MOHRI on November 3, 2007.

                                Indonesia Records Its\' 113 Fatalities

                                Jakarta, November 11, 2007 - Bird Flu Information center -

                                Laboratory test results from the Ministry of Health's Research Development Center dated November 1, 2007 and Jakarta-based Eijkman Institute test results confirmed that MN (M, 31) from Bengkalis District,Riau Province is positively infected by the H5N1 virus.

                                MN had onset on 31 October 2007. He was admitted to Permata Hati Hospital in Duri sub-district on November 3, 2007 then referred to Arifin Achmad Hospital in Pekanbaru on November 6,2007. When MN arived at the hospital at 13.00, he had passed away.

                                MN had shown symptoms of fever, breathing difficulties, leucopenia (a decrease in the number of white blood cells), thrombositopenia (a decrease in the number of platelets in the blood) and pneumonia (an infection of the lung that causes respiration problems ).

                                Indonesia now records 113 human cases of bird flu, 91 of them are fatal.
