SANA'A, Sep. 24 (Saba) - Ministry of Public Health and Population has announced the death of two more cases infected with Swine Flu (N1H1).

Four new H1N1-infected cases have been announced, bringing the confirmed cases in the country to 189.

The authorities have reported three deaths from the Swine Flu, the latest was four days ago.

Most of the infected were reported to have recovered, with further measures urged as winter is due.

Yemen reported the first case on June 16 and the first death from the disease on August 19.

In recent weeks, many cases have been detected, with infection mainly blamed for contact.

SANA'A, Oct. 12 (Saba)- Some 921 H1N1 cases have been registered until now in the country, Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul Kareem Rasa said on Monday.

In a press conference, the minister said the 843 cases have recovered, 13 cases died and 55 cases are under treatment.

The minister reviewed developments related to the swine flu virus since registration of first case in Yemen for a student came from United Stated.

He called on citizens to follow up protective measures from virus

The first death from the disease reported on 19th August.

Last week, the Yemeni pharmaceutical company YEDCO has developed anti-viral drug for the Swine Flue (H1N1) and registered it at the Yemeni General Authority of Medicines and Medical Supplements.

General Director of the High Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplements Dr. Abdul-Monem al-Hakami said that the drug registered by YEDCO at the authority is the same medicine invented by a Switzerland company before years.

Speaking to Saba, al-Hakami added that the Switzerland medicine called "Tamiflu", which consists of Oseltaamivir phosphate75mg capsules, is anti-viral drug for the seasonal flue that approved recently by WHO as anti-viral drug for curing Swine Flue and Bird Flue and now being produced by a number of companies in the world.

SANA'A, Dec. 16 (Saba) ? Yemen on Wednesday said that its total of the cases infected with the pandemic of swine flu, commonly known as H1N1, has climbed in the past two months, pointing major efforts are made to control and prevent it.

Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul Karim Rasa'a said the number of the infected was till Tuesday 5039 people across the republic.

So far, 25 deaths were reported from the flu, 1229 cases recovered and others are still receiving treatment, he said.

Apart from the global concern, the outbreak of another disease was reported in a few cities, claiming lives and terrifying the people, particularly those in the western province of Taiz.

Saying that it was not in favor of the government to not release information about the disease, the minister said 777 cases were found infected with the dengue fever.

On control and prevention steps, Rasa'a said many campaigns have been conducted that sprayed thousands of homes in the target areas killing mosquitoes transmitting the disease.
