Cases of whooping cough reported in Kanawha County

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Health officials at the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department are investigating several cases of pertussis, also known as whooping cough.
This is caused by the bacteria bordetella pertussis.
Officials recently received a report of a child with pertussis attending the U.S. Martial Arts Tournament in St. Albans, as well as a child in Kanawha County schools with the illness. ..
