Hundreds of Appleton Students Face Test for Tuberculosis

The Appleton Health Department and school district are working together after an Appleton North High School student was discovered to have tuberculosis.
Despite the diagnosis, officials say there's no need to panic.
"It's very difficult to get, actually, and you need prolonged exposure over a long period of time, so people would have to be in very close proximity for multiple days or close exposure," Curt Eggebrecht at the Appleton Health Department said.
But they're still being cautious.
Letters went home to parents Wednesday, letting them know about the diagnosis, and that their child may be tested if they came in contact with the infected student...
