What does "FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, ONLY" printed on an announcement about an upcoming media telebriefing mean?

Our email has received the 2nd email with the words FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, ONLY printed on it. Usually I post the media telebriefing invitation and redact the access code so that the general public knows there is a meeting. This is a public service.

An email in June about a media telebriefing was designated as "off the record".

wth

How is a media telebriefing notice "off the record" about when the telebriefing will occur and who is presenting? The whole purpose of the media telebriefing is to publicize what is happening in a particular outbreak.

Now the emails are saying FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, ONLY. This is amateur. Very.

Stop it.

HHS to Host Media Telebriefing on Monkeypox


On Thursday, August 4, the Department of Health and Human Services will host a media telebriefing to announce updates on the monkeypox outbreak response efforts by the Biden Administration.

I have been publishing the media telebriefing notices with redacted passcodes for years.

Any word on what this was all about? Planning with media sounds like narrative control again. Or was this just an awkward way to announce the latest disease emergency?

I have no idea what they are doing. Media events - by design - are not secret. Ideally you would want as many media at a media event as possible. Wide dissemination of these notices increases the participation of the media.
