In one year, the influenza A virus H1N1 has infected 72 000 people in Mexico, but more than 20 million have been in contact with the virus without being detected, according to epidemiological studies.


Today marks the first anniversary of the declaration of an epidemiological alert virus that was detected a few weeks in Mexico became a pandemic.

While there are only 72 000 confirmed cases, the Ministry of Health estimated 20 million people could be infected. The virus has killed at least a thousand people.

Technically, the alert continues, with recommendations for hygiene to avoid contagion, as the use of antibacterial gel and clog sneezing and seek medical attention as soon as you have symptoms.

A year ago, the alert led to the suspension of classes and economic activities in the country.
