Do NOT use this pitcher to protect you from cysts, bacteria, and virus that are in raw water. Use this pitcher with your Berkey, Aquairain, Katadyn Drip, or Premium Water Filter’s low pressure filter to protect you from cysts with added chemicals (i.e. bleach) to kill the bacteria and virus. This pitcher just removes a lot of the junk (and chlorine) remaining after doing that. Great for using for your existing tap water while PBF wings its way in.
