PHILIPPI, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Barbour County Health Department has confirmed a single case of measles in the area.

In a Facebook post, the department said that contact tracing is being performed to determine any other possible cases associated with the infected individual. The Harrison-Clarksburg Health Department confirmed in its own post that the infected individual was unvaccinated.

The Harrison-Clarksburg Health Department also announced that it is collaborating with state and county officials to be prepared in case measles is reported in Harrison County. As of Friday, no cases have been reported except for the single one in Barbour County.
