VietNamNet Bridge ? Over 300,000 people got infected with influenza virus in the first three months of 2013, according to Tran Dac Phu, Deputy Head of the Preventive Medicine Department under the Ministry of Health.

The figure included three deaths from A/H1N1 flu, two in Yen Bai and one in Thanh Hoa, Phu said.

Particularly, during the past five-day holiday (from April 27-May 1), the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases received five patients who were hospitalized with signs of pneumonia complications. Test results showed that two of them were positive for A/H1N1 virus.

In the Northern province of Lao Cai, two flu outbreaks from Quang Kim Commune of Bat Xat District and a boarding school for ethnic minority people have been reported with over 50 infection cases, including seven cases positive for A/H1N1 virus.
