Monte Warren Monfore
1952 - 2009
1952-2009 Monte Warren Monfore entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, after a 17 day illness due to complications brought on by Swine Flu. He was 57.
He was born Aug. 17, 1952 in San Pedro to Jack and June Monfore. He married the love of his life, Carol Frances Logan, on Sept. 9, 1978. He has been a Ventura County resident for 25 years after moving here from Brownfield, Texas.
He worked for BJ Services for 21 years as a senior service supervisor and was currently employed with Security Paving, Inc. working highway construction for the past 11 years. He was an avid fisherman who loved to spend his Sundays on the lake with his son. He was equipment manager for the Tri-Valley Girls Softball League for over seven years and adored coaching his two daughters through the league up to high school. He was a beloved husband, loving father and had a heart of gold. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, the stories he told and his ability to light up a room.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years; his three children, Cristine Monfore of Mission Hills, Sara and Daniel Monfore of Ventura; his father, Jack Earl Monfore of Brownfield, Texas; and his two brothers, Jack and Bill Monfore. A celebration of Monte's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home located at 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory.
