CHILHOWIE, VA (WDBJ7) Health officials say there have been no new cases of meningitis at Chilhowie Elementary School and the two week observation period is over.

We reported earlier this month that the school was closing for two days after three students were suspected of having meningitis.

Two of those students were confirmed to have Neisseria Meningitis.

The third student was not confirmed, but they were treated as though they had bacterial meningitis.

No other students were reported to have the potentially deadly illness.
