Osbourn High School student dies from flu complications

Joshua Long, a 16-year-old sophomore at Osbourn High School in Manassas, died Sunday night at Children?s Hospital in Washington ? two days after apparently coming down with the flu, family members said.

In an email, his mother Michelle Long said Josh was a ?perfectly healthy? teenager who ?just all of the sudden got really ill Friday morning.?

By Saturday morning, Josh had been diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and was ?hanging on to his life,? his mother said. Doctors told the family his illness was brought on by the flu...
