Something "strange" is happening to dogs in one part of Bedford County.
The Coleman family is keeping a close eye on their best friend, Sweetie. She's one of the few dogs in their Maple Street neighborhood that hasn't been sick lately.
"Makes me a little bit nervous," said Clinton Coleman. "We don't want to let (Sweetie) out of our sight."
In the last two weeks, eight dogs in the Forest area have gotten sick. Five have died.

"It's just really sad to find out these dogs are dying," said Andrew Coleman, a young boy who often plays on Maple Street with his friend, Randy Rau.
Coleman and Rau know the neighborhood animals well, and they don't believe the dogs are dying of natural causes.
"I fell really sad for them, because one of them I really liked," said Rau.
Most of the sick dogs are having seizures.
"Shelby" is among the dogs who have fallen ill. Her owners say she was perfectly healthy before her sudden illness.
Veterinarians and the Bedford County Sheriff's Office are looking into these cases...
