USDA MASTER GARDENERS PROGRAM

I hope that the (USDA) UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE Master Gardeners program, which is nationwide, is addressing Pandemic concerns.

Master Gardeners, as part of their volunteer training, could spread the word about converting flower gardens into vegetable gardens to help alleviate possible food shortages. About 17,000 new volunteers per year are in contact with thousands of home gardeners via hundreds of garden clubs, nationwide in the USA and in Canada.

Maybe they are reorganizing their program to address this possible pandemic? I hope so. And I hope former FEMA director Michael Brown is not affiliated with this program at the USDA. :(

The Master Gardeners could provide a great service in North America, provided they have good leadership.

Well, I haven't come across Brown's name at the American Horticultural Society, so there may be a glimmer of hope that this organization could spread the word about the need for vegetable gardening amongst its members also:
