According to this week's MMWR - Provisional cases of selected notifiable diseases, United States, weeks ending February 22, 2014, and February 23, 2013 (8th week):
Gonorrhea is exponentially out pacing 2013.
The total number of infections for all of 2013 was 52,583.
So far in 2014 - in just 8 weeks - there have been 39,484 infections reported. This is 4,936 per week. This rate is 4 times last year's weekly rate of 1,011.
