The Red Cross has opened a 24-hour respite center at Greenwood Lake Community Center - 51 Waterstone Rd, Village of Greenwood Lake for those affected by the Jennings Creek/Sterling State Park wildfire. They have snacks and hot coffee.

The NYS DEC has issued Air Quality Alert until midnight for the eastern Catskills, mid Hudson Valley, Great Capital Region, Taconics, Saratoga Region, Washington County and the eastern Mohawk Valley due to particulate matter from the smoke due to the wildfires. #nywx​​

Smoke from the Orange County wildfire is drifting up into the Capital Region, lowering the air quality along the Hudson Valley. Rain this evening will help "clean" the air. Smoke will likely dissipate after 8pm.​

[Currently in the Ballston Spa area, 5 miles south of Saratoga Springs we are at PM2.5 AQI of 194 - Unhealthy category.]

NWS has issued Red Flag warnings for tomorrow for Mid-Hudson, NYC, LI, Capital and portions of the Southern Tier and Mohawk Valley Regions through 6 pm Tuesday. Warm temps, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.​
