40 admitted to hospital for viral fever

Ahmedabad, April 17: Forty persons were admitted to a hospital in Salaya town of Gujarat's Jamnagar district in the past two days because of viral fever, official sources said here yesterday.
"According to preliminary tests, it seems the people admitted to the local hospital in Salaya are suffering from viral fever," said T Natrajan, Jamnagar district collector.
"About 40 persons have been admitted to the hospital since April 15," he said adding most of them have been discharged.
"No deaths have been reported due to viral fever," Natrajan said.
"Blood samples from the patients have been collected and were sent to a research institute in Pune for confirming the disease," he added.
Health teams are visiting individual households in the town and administering medicines, Natrajan said. (Agencies)
