URBANA -- The University of Illinois says more than a dozen students have what is suspected to be the H1N1 flu virus and more are expected.

Dr. Robert Palinkas is director of the university's McKinley Health Center. He says none of the students is sick enough to be hospitalized.

Palinkas says the students likely carried the illnesses with them to school. This is the first week of the fall semester.

He says most of the students have been sent home to their families for a week. The few still on campus are being isolated.

URBANA, Ill. (AP) --

More than 250 cases of suspected H1N1 flu have been reported on the University of Illinois' campus in Urbana-Champaign so far this semester and more are expected.

Dr. Robert Palinkas of the university's McKinley Health Center says most of the cases have been relatively mild.

Palinkas says students and others who suspect they have the flu should come to the university's health center.

University officials have been asking students with suspected cases of the illness to go home until they're no longer contagious or isolate themselves in their residences.
