An outbreak of African swine fever has been detected in wild boars in the Vinnytsia region

A mass die-off of wild boars has been reported in the Mohyliv-Podilskyi District of Vinnytsia Oblast.

Laboratory tests have confirmed the presence of African swine fever (ASF). Experts are determining the extent of the infection’s spread and implementing necessary anti-epizootic measures.

This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.​

According to the report, 11 animal carcasses were found in the district’s hunting grounds. This is already the sixth case of the disease in wild animals in Ukraine since the beginning of 2026. Previous outbreaks among wild boars this year were recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, and Zakarpattia regions...
